American Knives
The First History and Collectors's Guide by Harold Peterson |
|
Men have collected arms for centuries but in recent years there has been an increased interest in the field of edged weapons. This book, when first published in 1958, opened the field of American knives of all types to a vast number of collectors eager for information.
Harold Peterson, with his broad background in edged weapons, filled this need with an authoritative book that supplied almost two hundred illustrations and 170 pages of text. The knives of the early colonists are covered in detail as is the famous Bowie knife which was used by the later settlers of our frontiers. The author goes on to discuss knives issued to and carried by our armed forces throughtout our nation's history, and gives special attention to the knives of the American Indian. This book will serve well both the new collector and the experienced one.
The list price for American Knives is $24.95 for the hardcover, and $17.95 for the paperback. Through THE RUTGERS GUN CENTER they are available for $22.45 (hardcover) and $16.15 softcover! |
